Patrick Smith

As a partner of WestPac Investments, Mr. Smith has facilitated development and managed company operations in California, Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, the Caribbean and Australia. Mr. Smith has expertise in acquisition, growth strategy, organizational leadership, financial management, external communications, marketing and sales of income and resort properties. These investments span 44 years of business. Mr. Smith has a successful and profitable track record of attracting and managing private equity and venture capital funding.

He has also lead organizations through multi-company collaboration agreements to economic and physical success of remediation of environmental disasters. In addition to his business expertise, Mr. Smith is also environmentally conscious and has been the driving force in nationally recognized LEED Certified Developments. The total value of the projects with which Mr. Smith has been involved is in excess of $6 Billion Dollars. Through the various company ownerships, Mr. Smith and his affiliate companies have employed over 3,600 people across six western states and three countries.

Jonathan Branoff

Jonathan G. Branoff, CCIM, is Executive Vice President of WestPac Communities, a real estate development and investment company headquartered in Santa Barbara, California. Mr. Branoff has been a real estate professional since 2005 and has managed real estate transactions in excess of $150 million since 2014. He has a wide breadth of experience ranging from asset management and acquisitions, to transaction management and investor relations, as well as providing oversight of architectural design and entitlements. Mr. Branoff’s area of expertise is in real estate finance and investment, deal structuring, securing capital, investment strategy, and financial modeling and analysis. Mr. Branoff’s creativity coupled with his extensive real estate background across many disciplines allows him to generate innovative real estate solutions that optimize value for the projects that he works on.

Mr. Branoff was hired by WestPac in 2014, where his role focused on student housing investment, development and asset management. In this capacity he was directly involved in the day-to-day oversight and strategic decision making for more than 3,000 student housing beds, as well as the development process of multiple student housing, mixed-use, and multifamily development projects. Mr. Branoff has been an active real estate investor throughout his career, and he approaches every project from the perspective of an owner.

Mr. Branoff studied International Business at the American College of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2003, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University in 2005, and received his Professional Certificate in Real Estate Finance & Investment from New York University in 2006. Mr. Branoff received the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2017 and has been an active member in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) since his 2016 selection into the ULI Larson Center for Leadership, a program designed to develop real estate and land use leaders in Michigan. Mr. Branoff resides in Ann Arbor with his wife Ashley and their two children, Vivienne (7) and Leo (4).

Chuck Braff

Chuck Braff has developed real estate in Canada and the US and has found his niche on the Central Coast of California. Mr. Braff graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA and an MRED from the University of Southern California. His rigorous education, participation in ground-up construction, diverse real estate development experience, and his sense of responsibility to the community add a level of detail and depth to his work that investors value.

Mr. Braff has built and developed master-planned communities, long-term care facilities, apartment complexes, student housing projects, elementary schools, custom homes, a casino, and ski-in/ski-out condo developments. Mr. Braff is now focusing on residential and commercial developments.

Mr. Braff has been working with WestPac Communities since 2014. He is currently focusing on Laurel Creek’s entitlements, lease-up, tenant fit out, and property upgrades.

 

Henry Burrows

Mr. Burrows, Asset Manager of WestPac Communities, joined the company in 2016. After initially working from the Michigan office, he was relocated to San Luis Obispo in order to lead the turnaround of a portfolio of unstabilized assets. His primary focus is on leasing/tenant procurement, property management, client relations, and strategy execution. Mr. Burrows attended the University of Montana where he studied Business Administration prior to joining WestPac Communities. He is currently pursuing his CCIM designation and is involved in multiple philanthropic groups throughout the community. As a native of nearby Santa Barbara, California, he has multi-generational network throughout the Central Coast and beyond.
